Construction is currently underway to upgrade the Internatonal Apron to accommodate the new generation of large airraft. The new Echo Apron and Northern International Pier will be completed in 2006. The International Arrivals facility will be upgraded by 2007 and a new multi-storey parkade, the second at JIA, will be constructed by 2007. Construction of the Central Terminal that will seamlessly connect all passengers and public between Terminal A (International) and Terminal B (Domestic) will be completed in 2009. All projects will be completed prior to 2010 - when South Africa will be hosting the FIFA Soccer World Cup.
